PRE & POST LASER TREATMENT ADVICE
Before your laser hair removal treatment
-
Wet shave.
-
Shave the areas before your treatment with a clean, sharp razor using a shave foam or gel.
-
No wax.
-
Do not pluck, epilate or wax between your laser hair removal treatments as this will disrupt the hair growth cycle and you may not receive the best results from your treatment.
-
Avoid direct sunlight.
-
Remember to stay out of the sun and avoid tanning and false tanning products before your treatment as it can impact the efficacy of your treatment, and may mean you need to reschedule your treatment.
-
Please inform us of medications, medical history, tattoos/ permanent make-up or sun exposure.
After your laser hair removal treatment
-
Treated skin may be pink or red following your treatment - it may feel like mild sunburn or windburn, this is normal. The redness may last up to 72 hours. If required, you can apply a cold compress, cold gel pack, or a soothing gel until symptoms subside. Treated areas may be temperature sensitive. Hot or humid weather conditions can aggravate the skin. Cool showers or baths may offer relief.
-
Immediately after treatment, the treated area will be a bit more sensitive.
-
Things to avoid after laser hair removal treatments (there's a few!)

- Makeup (we recommend mineral makeup only)
- Perfumed or fragranced products
- Deodorant and bleaching creams
- Swimming, hot tubs and excessive exercise until the pinkness of the skin subsides.

In short, it’s best to avoid all possible skin irritants or active products in the treatment area for 2 weeks before your next treatment. Do not pick or scratch the treated area as this may result in discolouration or damage. Keep the treated area clean and dry and avoid rubbing the treated area with exfoliating products, peels, brushes, loofah sponges and course face cloths until the treated skin has returned to normal. Tight-fitting clothing may also cause friction to the treated area. Keep the treated area clean and dry; avoid rough sports and tight clothing. Skip exercise until the day after your treatment. It is rare but possible that a graze, burn or blister may appear following treatment. Avoid exposing the treated area to the sun, sunbeds or self-tanning treatments, and protect treated skin with clothing and sunblock SPF 30+ between treatments.
